It's as simple as play time for yogi's. Learning be held, lifted, supported as well as give the support for another to deepen or fid a stretch is a life affirming experience. No Experience necessary but you must have attended yoga before. You don't have to be able to do the poses in the pictures to come along, we will being with the basics and work up over time
We will build the classes over time to ensure that we build trust and body awareness. Using groups of 2-6+ people we can enhance and deepen a stretch, help us balance and soar in our physical practice.
All partner stretching, massage, strengthening, and flying techniques have tremendous healing and therapeutic benefits; physically and emotionally. Partner yoga classes teach these methods and techniques for people of all levels of ability.
WHAT'S A CLASS LIKE?
Each class consists of group circles, creative movement and warm up exercises, flying, partner stretches, strengthening exercises and thai massage. It is a 90 minute class followed by 30 minutes of home made cake and lush tea together and a space for students to slowly but consistently build on:
- the physical skills of partner yoga: you don't need to have a partner to come along, we will get into partner's when you arrive.
flexibility, strength, massage techniques, balance, and partner-assisting skills
- the energetic attributes of the practice:
trust, communication, playfulness, connection, listening, healing touch
- Our philosophy emphasises listening, compassion and understanding as important and essential pieces of partner yoga. I will be able to balance the class structure appropriately, in order to understand and move at your level. Classes will aim to challenge your strength, flexibility, and communication skills in a healing environment.
